Perma Red

Good.

This is a very fine but over-looked novel by a skillful younger writer. Beautiful language, a beautifully told story centered on the complex life of a Native American woman---but quite a different perspective than other works that fall, woefully, into genre fiction.

I loved Perma Red, and was sad to see it end. Debra Magpie Earling's writing is stunning; I found myself reading, and re-reading her beautiful sentences.
