Had I read the incisive review that precedes this one, I might have left the book on the shelf at the store, because I was not prepared for either the depth of Partee's discussion nor the breadth of the sources he evaluates so confidently--and I have still done little more than browse "The Institutes." On the face of it, I am not qualified to write a review.

The Theology of John Calvin is a fitting magnus opus for Charles Partee, who devoted a lifetime to studying and understanding the work of John Calvin. This book is a great addition to the literature on CalvinAC/a,!
